Go-Kart Season is about to begin. Paige's first race is Sunday. For those of you who don't know, the track in Emmetsburg is located at the Fairgrounds. Always starts with hot laps at 12:30 and racing at 1:00 and it's FREE to come watch! Hope to see some supporters there cheering on Miss Paige.

Last Race

Today was the last race for the season in Emmetsburg.

Paige got 3rd in both heat races. Between the heat races and the feature the track had an awards presentation for season points. Since her class does not have points, each racer got recognized. They received a clock with their picture on one side and a photo album in the middle.

She started 3rd in the feature and she ended up finishing 2nd. She drove really well....she's a natural!

Paige has had a great time racing this season.

Rough Track = Rough Day

Paige raced in Emmetsburg today. When we got there, the track looked horrible. Apparently, they put down some sort of dust control but it had already been watered so it turned the track into a sloppy, rutted mess. They took about an extra hour to pack the track.

She started 6th in the first heat race and finished 4th. Started 2nd in the second heat race and won it. She looked good in both heat races. Paige started 2nd for the feature. By then the track had dried out and was very slick. She took the lead and led for about 3 laps before she spun out. She had to start in the back and ended up finishing 5th.

They have added on one more race, so she will be racing again on Sept. 20th.

August 16th

Third day of racing in Emmetsburg today. Seven putt-putts showed up.

Paige finished 3rd and 6th in the heat races, so started 6th for the feature. There was a lot of bumping going on by some of the squirts, but Miss Paige held her own and finished 5th.

At this point, where you finish is not as important as learning to race and being a good sport. And of course, having a good time.

August 2nd-Emmetsburg

There were 6 Putt-Putts in Emmetsburt today, Paige started last in both heat races and did really well. She's doing a great job figuring out how to take the corners and to hold her line.

She started 6th in the feature and after a couple cars looped it and she managed to drive around them like a pro, she finished 3rd.

She had to make sure to let her dad know she got 3rd today and he ONLY got 4th last night.

We are so proud of her for doing so well and most of all for having a great time doing it. We tell her "having fun is first, winning comes later".

Thanks to all her fans who came out to support her. She loves having so many familiar faces in the crowd.

Paige races again on August 16th at 12:30 in Emmetsburg.

Sunday, July 26th

Today was Paige's first go-kart race. She raced the fair race in Emmetsburg. We picked up her car at the track about an hour before the races started.

She did really well in the hot laps and heat races, but the kart wasn't cooperating very well for the feature. She couldn't get it to go at all. There is something wrong with the fuel system so the people we got it from took it back home with them to repair before next weeks race.

Even though she did not finish the feature, she still got a trophy and a certificate for a free pop.
She's very excited for next week's race already!
